paypal dilemma

Wed May 14, 2008, 7:11 AM
ok guys, i need help.
Anyone of you used paypal for long?

i need to know some stuff.

i'm currently having a personal account for paypal,
and its bitching me about allowing me to accept payment via credit/debit card for ONLY 5 TIMES!!!! WAT THE HELL???

what i need to know is, if i accept payment through paypal funds instead, will i be able to accept unlimited payments??? coz assuming i wanna send money to family members, LOTS of time, 5 times wouldn't be enough......damn paypal speaks little of this.

i tried looking through the paypal faqs, googled for it even, and i can't get a confirmation about this. Seasoned users can you please share about this ;A;

And another thing, paypal mentioned that accepting payment other than credit/debit card, it's free. Is that also true? that would save a lot of hassle on the fees incured.

thanx in advance m(_ _)m

Okami Contest related

I've been snooping around a little around DA and i get a bit of the "how-can-those-entries-win" vibes with all the other better works around.

But to be honest some of the entries tried too much to make it look like the official works, down to the very last stroke of chinese brush feel.

Wouldn't it be boring to find works drawn to emulate your style when you've already seen enough of it. I mean yes, it looks good, it's very professionally done, but if i wanted back the same style i would deploy the original artist(s) who did those works instead?

I guess the judges were looking for something refreshing and pinch of individualism. So the winning entries are sort of heading to that direction i guess. (from my point of view that is)

Personally, i love all 3 winner's works, though simplistic (as compared to many) but the appeal is just great. I won't have to scrutinize through countless messy details before being able to fully comprehend and enjoy the picture. It just doesn't get boring looking at it over and over again and it gives off a good-feel.

Congratz to all 3 winners!!!

Many thanx to all participants of the contest for letting me have some eye candy as well lol. If you like to view some other great entries head on to the news here >> [link]

just my 2cents worth...

There's one thing intrigues me, is the judges looking for fanarts meant to be look exactly like the officials or individual style?

I agree - the 3 winning pieces were all quiet beautifully unique in thier own ways (especially the sculpture! I love it! XD). Thats what made them stand out from the pack, and is probably why they won.
You're right there does seem to be a little bitterness floating around from some of the other contestants - but then that's always going to be the way, as lots of people put lots of work into their submissions.

maybe it's bcoz you used Personal account which limits the number of payment if the customer uses credit/debit card. Not for Premier and Business, it's unlimited.. Yeah, I guess that's it. You can look here [link]

but if you received usual paypal funds from others paypal account, then it's unlimited.. (i guess so since I received most of my payments as paypal funds, and just a few customers used paid with credit/debit card.)

Regarding Paypal: personal accounts are limited to the number of credit card payments they can accept. If you upgrade your account to a Premier account, you can accept and make as many credit card payments as you like (there are fees involved for receiving credit card payments, though, regardless of account type).

And yes, it doesn't cost you anything to receive non-credit/debit payments.

I hope that helps.

Personal is so limited ;A;
but i just wanna transfer paypal funds with no charge. Is that true for personal accounts since you do receive payments in paypal funds?

which type is yours btw :3
If its premier did you pay anything for the upgrade?

For paypal, I ask to a friend. He told me you probably must to convert your account in "premium" type.
... I will do this me too.

Try Kawaii-radio: Anime, JPOP and video game music webradio!
It's all depending on what type of account you made.

I'm not too sure, but I THINK you can upgrade. Don't go for the business one though. It's the middle one.

you mean you want to transfer funds or want customers to transfer funds to you (that means you accept funds) ?

if you use Personal, usually you don't need to charge your customers for additional paypal fee bcoz the money they send will be the exact amount of the money you will receive. but if you use Premier or Business, the money your customers send will be charged with low fee (paypal fee). Let's say if they commish you usd10 and transfers just usd10, then you will receive less than usd10, maybe around usd9.++ something. So that's why artists who used Premier or Business will charge for additional paypal fee to their customers.. so as the continuation to the example, they need to transfer about usd10.++ something.

not sure if that answers your question.. ^^;

i started using Premier from the beginning so i'm not sure if upgrading to premier will be charged or not.. but I guess not.. ^^;
